God bless the good people at fark. Even if they do almost nothing but bicker all day. J777D posted this link, which on an initial glance seems to be awesome.

Holy shit! Are you kidding me?

Republicans in congress are reading secret internal democrat memos and email.

A damn shame. No wonder the republican congress gets everything through. The guys that are paid to show up, and happen to have a strong disagreement don't even bother to show up to vote.

As a Massahussetts taxpayer, I want his salary garnished. If I don't show up for work 62% of the time I don't think i'd still have paid leave left. I'd probably lose my damn job!

Fucking bureacrats.

Bush policy highlights, increased tracking of people who do innocent things like fly on a plane, or read a book. Less tracking of people who buy guns.

Yeah that makes sense.

iWon News: "Policy triumphs for Bush in the bill include eased requirements for federal gun records, the nation's first federally financed school vouchers, and language letting him contract out more government work to contractors."

Oh yeah, the other thing giving me hope: The democratic primary. Dean is slipping, and kerry (who despite being a wealthy Massachusetts democrat is in my opinion the best candidate right now) has the lead. Proving that evel in a cynical horribly corrupt institution such as the american 2 party system and the even more biased and extreme leaning primary process, good people can rise to the top, and good ideas can prosper in a country full of people who just go along with the flow, and voters so stupid they agree with Bush. In fact this morning I woke up from a dream/nightmare where I was trapped in a room with most of bush's cabinet and various other people and was shocked to hear people voice support and agreement for his most bizarro world policies.

Anywhoo, good luck to john kerry, I really ought to try to register to vote in the primaries here.

A day to look at things less cynically.

I've been in an exceptionally good mood since friday. Stuff at work is going very well. I've had a meeting of the minds with the other engineers, and we're all on the same page it seems to get things squared away for the rollout this summer. I have my laptop and I've been able to document things and take notes, and really feel more in control of the situation.

I watched a documentary on Maccu Pichu on the history channel and it gave me even more confidence, and drive and inspiration to do my very best and achieve something really great, and put me in a position to excel at my new engineer position, and do so in such a way as to being to be looked at for my ultimate goal of an IT management postition.

I have a great vision for the big picture, and I know what needs to be done. There's a lot of work in front of me, but when looking at colossal monuments like maccu picchu, built before dump trucks, cranes, etc, 6000+ pound boulders carried up a sheer moutain slope, and then built so expertly as to withstand the jungle for 400 years, completely unmaintained, surely the possibilities of my network setup should be attainable.

I'm almost upset to be off of work and not take advantage of this entusiasm. But I have written down goals and targets, and I now feel I will have the help to acheive them, be able to get the things into my hands to facilitate this undertaking.

I now have confidence in my abilities, a vision for the future, and the knowledge that failures and mistakes will come, but ultimately will be unable to stop me and my team from acheiving our ultimate goal, if we merely persist and grind out al the work to be done.

Anyway, better get back to football. Halftime's probably about over.
